Lower Back Pain

The spine supports the weight of the body and is commonly prone to injury and pain. Contributory factors include musculoligamentous strain, spinal osteoarthritis, disc herniation, spinal stenosis or sciatica. Risk factors for back pain include prolonged sitting and standing, spinal osteoarthritis, lifting and whiplash injuries. Back pain in one region can spread to involve other regions including the legs. It is important to identify the cause of the problem to manage the pain. Minimally invasive procedures can provide an alternative to surgery or when pain persists after spinal surgery. Please see the diagram below for common conditions we treat.
